As can be seen in other pages on my website, I have a old Warco milling machine (originally manual) however over the time I have converted it to CNC. In this process actuators were attached to allow for X Y positioning and fundamental Z height control. However as with a knee mill there are two ways for z height control, the quill or the knee. Due to inherent wear on the knee, the quill was the best option for automation. However, in order gain the full range of motion the knee has to be set within a certain range to obtain the most movement. As the knee control holds the full weight of the table, turning the handle to move the table can be a little bit hard. I needed to create an adapter to allow for automation.
